Episode 4: Liberty Threatened by Unrestrained Power
Today we discuss the Spygate conspiracy. It was once a "well known fact" that Trump colluded with Russia to win the 2016 election (and still is a "fact", to some). With the benefit on hindsight and Durham's long-running investigations, we start to see what really happened in 2016 and 2017 and the players in this conspiracy. We discuss the timeline, potential implications for trust in government, and whether this conspiracy could have impeded US-Russia relations for several years.
"The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it comes stronger than their democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is fascism - ownership of government by an individual, by a group.”
